International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF)

The IAFF fights for presumptive disability laws that acknowledge the connection between firefighting and certain health conditions. The IAFF presumptive disability coverage database provides up-to-date information by state and province.

The First Responder Center for Excellence (FRCE)

The FRCE is committed to promoting quality educational awareness and research to reduce physical, emotional, and psychological health and wellness issues for first responders.

Fire Family Foundation

Fire Family Foundation provides support and financial assistance to firefighters and their families in times of need.

CancerCare Co-Payment Assistance Foundation

Provides financial assistance for cancer-related co-payments, insurance premiums, and other out-of-pocket expenses for eligible patients, including firefighters.

FDNY Foundation

Supports various FDNY programs, including those that provide financial assistance and resources for firefighters facing health issues, including cancer.

FDNY World Trade Center (WTC) Health Program

Offers medical monitoring and treatment for FDNY firefighters who were involved in the rescue and recovery efforts at the World Trade Center site, with a focus on cancers and other related conditions.

FDNY Family Assistance Unit (FAU)

Provides support and resources for the families of FDNY firefighters, including those dealing with cancer. This includes assistance with navigating healthcare systems and accessing benefits.

Provides resources and support for retired FDNY firefighters, including assistance with health benefits and access to medical services for those diagnosed with cancer.

FDNY Fire Family Transport Foundation

The central focus is assisting the families of firefighters in their times of greatest need, in transporting firefighters, family members and department personnel to and from medical institutions both for care and family support.

Uniformed Firefighters Association (UFA) of Greater New York

Advocates for the health and welfare of FDNY firefighters, providing support, resources, and financial assistance programs for members dealing with cancer and other serious health conditions.

NY Firefighter Heart and Lung Institute

A medical center designed by firefighters for firefighters that provides medical care specializing in but not limited to cardiac and pulmonary testing, as well as, providing educational seminars focused on FF safety throughout the USA and Canada.

FealGood Foundation

The primary mission is to assist all emergency personnel within the United States who have been injured in the course of their duties or within their everyday lives.

Fired Up For a Cure FDNY

Prevent, educate and advocate the importance of annual medical exams and screenings. Empower our cancer survivors to embrace life beyond having a cancer diagnosis.

Everyone Goes Home

Provides free training, resources, and programs to champion and implement the 16 Firefighter Life Safety Initiatives. The goal of the Everyone Goes Home Program is to reduce the number of preventable firefighter line-of-duty deaths and injuries.

National Fallen Fire Fighters Foundation

Our mission is to honor America’s fallen fire heroes; support their families, colleagues, and organizations; and work to reduce preventable firefighter death and injury.

Detect Together

We save lives by teaching people how to recognize the early warning signs of cancer and activate healthcare.

Canada

Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs (CAFC)

The CAFC has a program focused on firefighter cancer knowledge, behaviours, attitudes and barriers. By partaking in this research, firefighters will explore of 20 cancer prevention practices.

Cancer Care Ontario is part of Ontario Health, an agency created by the Government of Ontario with a mandate to connect and coordinate our province’s health care system to help ensure that Ontarians receive the best possible care.

Occupational Cancer Research Centre
